If you are new to Rhode Island, let us be the first to say “Welcome!”
Homeschooling in RI is really simple. Once a year (around the beginning of the school year) mail a Letter of Intent (LOI) to the Superintendent’s office of your local school district. Then school your children as normal.
Occasionally, a district will contact a homeschooler for more information. This is when it is helpful to know the state laws, know your district’s home education policy, and be a member of RIGHT. If you have any difficulty gaining approval from your district or have questions about the process, don’t hesitate to contact the Chapter Representative for your area!
