Breakout workshop session choices:

•Family Discipleship: Eight secrets to fulfilling the Great Commission in your home (Part 1 and Part 2) with Chap Bettis

•Homeschooling Through High School

(and Getting in to College!) with Lisa David

Come to an informal question and answer session on these hot topics. Lisa David will present a basic overview of different approaches and resources available and will share information on her family's homeschooling journey (with two off to college and one still in high school). Her daughters Emily (senior) and Megan (freshman) will also be present to answer questions from the student perspective.

•The Basics: New to homeschooling with Steve and Amy Brock.  Steve and Amy will give a basic overview of homeschooling here in RI and take your specific questions about starting out at any age.

•Organizing Strategies for the Right-Brained Thinker with Heather Savage.

Do you or your children have any of the following difficulties: following lists or routines, thinking step-by-step, forgetting ingredients in a recipe, forgetting items on your shopping list, skipping lines while reading,  remembering to do schoolwork, keeping things in order, etc.?  If so, you may be a right-brained thinker.  Left-brained thinking is sequential, while right-brained thinking likes to skip around, go in through the back door, and intuit answers.  Because of this different way of thinking, "right-brainers" need a different strategies for learning and organizing.  The usual methods do not work (because they are designed by and for "left-brainers".)  This workshop will offer strategies for "right-brainers" to help themselves and their children to organize thoughts, time, and space.

•Mom Confidence: Equip Yourself to Care for a Toddler or Infant While Teaching Your Older Kids with Stephanie Gaddis.
When it comes to homeschooling, toddlers and infants often bring a whole new challenge. In this session we'll tackle questions such as: when do we get school work done? What if Baby in the room distracts my Big Kid? And how do I keep my Toddler out of trouble while we do school? Learn real mom tools and tips for homeschooling with an infant or toddler in the house.

Closing General Session:  Homeschooling Q&A panel session with all workshop presenters.

There will be a small vendor floor with a few local vendors.

Also peruse and bring items for the FREE tables! If you have some free books or curriculum (educational only) that will bless others, please bring them. (We don’t want a lot of leftovers so be discriminating about what you bring, please!)

No child care is available.  Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent at ALL times.  Please be considerate of others in the workshops if noise becomes an issue.  Most workshops will not have sound systems to enhance the speakers' volume.

Please be considerate of the church property that they are letting us use so extensively!

Also, on the registration page pre-purchase lunch for the conference for $5 per person.  This lunch will include a large sandwich with lunch meat on a bulky roll, a piece of fruit, a dessert and bottled water.  You may bring your own bag lunch if you desire.
